The name LumenVie combines lumen, the Latin word for “light,” and vie, the French word for “life.” Together, they reflect the platform’s mission: to illuminate new pathways for educators and institutions through curiosity, clarity, and innovation.

Instructional Design and Course Development Specialist
Professor Luma is the instructional designer at the heart of LumenVie’s learning experience. She specializes in course design, pedagogy, learner engagement, and the thoughtful structuring of content across online, hybrid, and in-person environments. With a strong focus on clarity, accessibility, and meaningful learning, Professor Luma helps transform complex ideas into well-crafted educational experiences that support both faculty growth and student success.

Professor Lumos

Compliance and Ethics Specialist
Professor Lumos brings a critical lens to policy, compliance, academic integrity, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. His role within LumenVie is to ensure that innovation remains aligned with ethical practice, institutional expectations, and learner trust. Professor Lumos helps learners think carefully about governance, accountability, digital responsibility, and the policies that shape higher education environments.

Vee

Course Guide and Learning Experience Facilitator
Vee is the steady guide who helps hold the LumenVie experience together. As the course guide, Vee supports flow, clarity, and connection across the learning journey, helping learners navigate ideas, transitions, and key takeaways. Vee also keeps Professor Luma and Professor Lumos balanced, making sure the experience remains engaging, organized, and centered on the learner rather than the platform itself

Professor Andy

AI and Emerging Technology Specialist
Professor Andy focuses on artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and the evolving role of technology in teaching and learning. He helps learners explore how emerging tools can support creativity, efficiency, and stronger educational design without losing the human side of instruction. Professor Andy’s role is to make innovation feel practical, relevant, and accessible for educators working in real academic settings.

About the Founder 

LumenVie was created by Demy Spadideas, a higher education professional with advanced academic training in business, higher education, and digital learning. With experience in instructional design, academic operations, and digital learning platforms, Demy developed LumenVie to address real gaps in course design, faculty support, and practical professional development.


Through the use of emerging educational technology, LumenVie uses an avatar-led faculty model to create structured and engaging learning experiences. Each avatar represents a distinct area of expertise, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of higher education. These avatars, with the exception of the DS avatar, which reflects the founder, are not based on specific persons or individuals but are informed by Demy's professional experiences across multiple roles.

Every course is designed and quality checked by Demy, a real practitioner and built to support meaningful applications in actual academic settings.
