The name LumenVie combines lumen, the Latin word for “light,” and vie, the French word for “life.” Together, they reflect the platform’s mission: to illuminate new pathways for educators and institutions through curiosity, clarity, and innovation.

Behind the avatar is a real practitioner who designs and reviews every LumenVie course to ensure it remains clear, relevant, and grounded in practice.

Instructional Design and Course Development Specialist
Professor Luma helps shape the learning experience at the heart of LumenVie. With a focus on course design, pedagogy, learner engagement, and clear content structure, she supports the development of meaningful online and blended learning experiences. Her role is to help transform complex ideas into well-designed courses that feel thoughtful, accessible, and relevant to professional practice.

Compliance and Ethics Specialist
Professor Lumos brings a critical lens to policy, compliance, academic integrity, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. His role is to make innovation feel practical and approachable within real-world educational settings.

LumenVie was created by Demy Spadideas, a higher education professional with advanced academic training in business, higher education, and digital learning. With experience spanning instructional design, academic operations, faculty support, and digital learning platforms, Demy developed LumenVie to offer thoughtful, practice centered professional development for those working across teaching, learning, and institutional change.

At the heart of LumenVie is an avatar-guided model designed to bring structure, clarity, and engagement to the learning experience. Each avatar represents a distinct role within the platform’s broader learning story. The DS avatar reflects the founder’s presence within LumenVie, helping introduce courses and connect learners to the ideas, people, and practices that shape each course experience.
